Nile Safari Lodge x Activate Body Therapy Wellness Retreat

In partnership with Uganda’s leading wellness clinic Activate Body Therapy. Nile Safari Lodge would like to offer a healthy holistic, four-day Wellness Safari Retreat on the banks of the majestic Nile River in Murchison Falls National Park.

The wellness retreat will combine an invigorating health experience with time spent disconnecting from devices and reconnecting with nature by watching the wonderful wildlife that inhabits the Murchison Falls National Park including Hippos, Elephants, Lions, Rothchild’s Giraffes, Buffaloes, Uganda Kobs and Nile Crocodiles to mention a few.

Days will be focused on strengthening the body while feeding the mind and soul with the guidance of a highly qualified team of specialists, therapists, nutritionists and trainers. The daily schedule of the retreat will be based on three pillars; Movement, Mindfulness and Nourishment. These pillars will be at the core of all the activities.

Movement

You will have the option of taking part in multiple activities such as functional fitness sessions overlooking The Nile, sunrise and sunset yoga, invigorating nature hikes to the magnificent Murchison Falls, stretches & strength training in the swimming pool or personal training sessions on the beautiful lodge grounds. Through this practice you will have more strength and fewer restrictions, improved coordination and balance, increased endurance and ultimately, you will feel more connected to your physical self.

Movement & Active Lifestyle Activities

Mindfulness

One of the main purposes of the retreat is to find renewed energy and vitality to maintain new learnt healthy habits. The practice of mindfulness is the practice of paying attention in the present moment, and doing it intentionally and with non-judgement. Mindfulness practices refer to the deliberate acts of regulating attention through the observation of thoughts, emotions and body states.

This retreat is the perfect opportunity to benefit from focused practice of mindfulness. Participants will have time to work on what matters the most to them. If yoga feels good (regardless of how much or little you have practised before coming to the retreat), then you can enjoy it twice a day and feel the benefits on their body and mind. If you find joy and purpose in writing, reading, relaxing massages or reflecting then you can have time to meditate, journal and soak in nature.

Mindfulness Activities

Nourishment

Most experts agree that the body does best on a clean diet rich with grains and nut, fruits, vegetables and juices. By eating consistently and making small changes at mealtimes, you can strengthen your relationship with food to experience both sustenance and enjoyment. Our innovative chef will prepare a satisfying and healthy menu with locally sourced ingredients. In addition, cooking classes and nutritional education will cover everything from planning menus and selecting the correct foods to preparing and serving healthy delicious new recipes that will become family favourites for a long time after the retreat. These include using ingredients that are low in Glycaemic Index, offering plant-based food options, making sure that there are gluten free options, low carbohydrate options, and various allergens are clearly indicated if they are included in the recipes.

Your food plan for the retreat will be “conscious cuisine” designed to detox and nourish and will be based on individual goals, they will be grouped in 3 categories.
