Bird Watching

Bird Watching

Uganda is home to more than 1,100 bird species, and the lodge's place on the Nile makes it an ideal base for ornithologists and keen bird watchers.

Home to over 1,100 species of birds, Uganda is a bird watcher's paradise. Look for the crested crane, the Abyssinian ground hornbill, the African fish eagle and the very shy, majestic shoebill stork. Outings are led by a specialist birding guide.

Birding is more than a pastime: with its role in research and conservation it has become an important part of wildlife tourism, and adds to what we know about how birds live.
