Getting Here

Nile Safari Lodge sits on the southern bank of the Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. The closest major airport is Entebbe International.

By road. The drive from Kampala is about five hours and roughly 300 km: Kampala, Masindi, Kichumbanyobo Gate, then Mubako Gate, through the park. Park fees of USD 45 per person per day apply, payable by Visa or Mobile Money. We can send a vehicle from Kampala for USD 250 per day, including fuel and driver.

By air. Daily scheduled and charter flights run from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Bugungu or Pakuba airstrips. Bugungu is a 25-minute drive from the lodge and Pakuba about 40 minutes. Flying is the easiest option for guests not used to long road journeys. There is also a helipad on site.

Where we are

Uganda stretches from the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains to the vast Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile. The lodge sits in the north-west, where the Victoria Nile crosses Murchison Falls National Park on its way to Lake Albert.

Dry season

December to March and June to August. Sunny, hot days and cooler evenings, with the best game viewing as animals gather at the river.

Rainy season

April to May and September to November. Rain is usually brief and followed by clear skies, and it stays warm.
